CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina softball head coach Kelley Green has announced the signing of five student-athletes, as Ava Hampton, Annelisa Winebarger, Tori Miller, Delaney Keith, and Livi Payne have all signed National Letters of Intent to play for the Chanticleers.

"I believe this recruiting class will play a huge role in the transformation of our program into one of the top teams in the Sun Belt," head coach Green said. "These signees, already impressively talented, also possess a high ceiling and a growth mindset. We are so excited to see them in teal for the next four years."

Ava Hampton, a utility player from New Hartford, Conn., tallied a .569 batting average and an OBP of .698 her freshman year. Hampton set the school record for most home runs in a single season both her freshman and junior seasons. She was named all-state and All-Berkshire following her junior year.

Coach Green on Ava - "Ava is an explosive hitter with good movements that will translate well to the next level. The bigger the game, the better she is!"

Annelisa Winebarger, a catcher and third baseman comes to Coastal Carolina from Yulee High School in Jacksonville, Fla. Winebarger was named all-county and a First Coast Conference honorable mention. She recorded 26 RBIs, six stolen bases, and 23 walks her senior season.

Coach Green on Annelisa – "Annelisa is a focused and determined athlete who will contribute big time on both sides of the field. Fans will enjoy seeing her barreling up balls and throwing out runners."

Tori Miller, a 5'9" right-handed pitcher comes to Coastal Carolina from Harrah, Okla. where she was named the District 4A-4 Pitcher of the Year her junior year and the District 4A-5 Pitcher of the Year her senior season. She set the Harrah High School record for most career strikeouts with 713.

Coach Green on Tori – "Tori has an impressive arsenal of pitches with the good command to keep hitters missing. She's an excellent complement to our pitching staff and will be able to keep even the best offenses in check."

Delaney Keith, a native of Nampa, Idaho, Keith was a second base and utility player who was named the Idaho Gatorade Player of the Year, Idaho Statesmen Player of the Year, and a Max Preps All-American.

Coach Green on Delaney – "Delaney is a high-level hitter, and we can't wait to experience the type of production she will make in our lineup. She also has excellent defensive tools at the middle infield position."

Livi Payne, a catcher and third baseman from Milton, Ga., Payne was a two-time first-team All-Region 7AAAAAA selection and a second-team All-Region 7AAAAAA selection her sophomore year. She helped Cambridge High School advance to the AAAAAA Elite 8.

Coach Green on Livi – "Livi is a clutch performer capable of hitting for a high average with power. Her strong defense behind the plate and at the corners will be a huge asset as well."

Coach Green will complete the remainder of her 2022 signing class at a later date.
