Chanticleers Head to Florida for a Pair of Matches

Coastal Carolina women’s lacrosse set for the final road trip of the regular season

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse team will travel to Florida for a pair of matches on Friday, April 23, and Sunday, April 25, versus Jacksonville and Stetson of the ASUN. The opening draw for April 23 at Jacksonville is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET while the match on April 25 at Stetson will start at noon ET.
 
Coastal enters play this weekend at 8-6 on the season. The Dolphins enter the contest at 6-0 overall while the Hatters have a 1-5 record.
 
ABOUT COASTAL
 
The Chanticleers have eight players in double digits for points with Samantha Courtemanche (33 goals, 27 assists, and 60 points) leading the team in goals, assists, and points. Redshirt freshman Kayla Downey is second with 49 points on 29 goals and 20 assists while junior Megan Bozzi is third with 19 goals and six assists for 25 points. Redshirt sophomore Lauren Cremen is third in goals scored with 24 while redshirt senior Megan Busch (7 goals, 14 assists) has 21 points, true freshman Monica Manley (12 goals, 8 assists) has recorded 20 points, graduate student Abbey Buchanan (13 goals, 6 assists) has 19 points, and freshman Avery Snyder has 18 points on 13 goals and five assists.
 
Defensively, the Chants are led by redshirt freshman goalkeeper Claire Martell who has started in goal in every game this season. She has tallied 115 saves for a .441 save percentage and has earned all eight wins on the season. The Verbank, N.Y. native has also caused eight turnovers and grabbed up a team-high 30 ground balls.
 
Defenders Anya McSorley and Emily D'Orsaneo aide in the defensive third by causing 25 and 19 turnovers, respectively. Sarah Trupp has added 16 caused turnovers while scooping up 24 ground balls while D'Orsaneo and McSorley have 29 ground balls apiece.
 
ABOUT JACKSONVILLE
 
Jacksonville is paced by Sarah Elms with 20 goals and five assists for 25 points while Jenny Kinsey is second in points with 24 points on 16 goals and eight assists. The Dolphins' offensive duo is aided by Alyssa Arnold (13 goals, 10 assists) and Grace Hobson (six goals, seven assists) with 23 and 13 points, respectively, while Molly Brock has 10 points.
 
On the defensive third, Addy Tysdal has started all six contests in goal with Dayna Martinetto having also made six appearances. Tysdal has allowed 39 goals while making 22 saves in earning five of Jacksonville's six wins while Martinetto has made 24 saves and allowed 15 goals for a 1-0 record.
 
Elms leads the team with eight caused turnovers while Brock and Casey Sullivan have added seven caused turnovers apiece. The trio of Kinsey, Elms, and Brock also have 16, 15, and 12 ground balls, respectively. 
 
ABOUT STETSON
 
Marina Rotella leads the Hatters' offensive attack with 17 goals and three assists for 20 points while Riley Reagan is second in points with 10 on four goals and six assists. They are aided in the offensive third by Quinn Roe (7 goals, 1 assist), Camden Frissora (5 goals, 1 assist), and Taylor Zuberer (4 goals, 2 assists) with eight, six, and six points, respectively.
 
On the defensive third, Kiera McCarthy has started in four of Stetson's six contests in goal with Sydney Heimann starting two and having made six appearancess. McCarthy has allowed 49 goals while making 38 saves in earning the lone win for the Hatters while Heimann has made 21 saves and allowed 51 goals for a 0-2 record.
 
Christina Nikolai and Reagan have caused seven turnovers to lead Stetson while the duo has scooped up 13 and eight ground balls, respectively.
