Coastal Carolina women’s lacrosse wins a third monthly conference award

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Anya McSorley of the Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse team was named Southern Conference (SoCon) Women's Lacrosse Defensive Players of the Month for April.

In five games, McSorley caused seven turnovers while scooping up 11 ground balls on the defensive end helping the Chanticleers go 3-2 in April which included the program's first-ever win over a top-10 nationally-ranked program in Jacksonville. The Bel Air, Md. native aided in getting the offense started by winning 18 draw controls.

Fellow Chants Samantha Courtemanche and Claire Martell were named Southern Conference Women's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Players of the Month, respectively, for February.
