Women's Golf Tied for Second after Second Round at Lady Paladin

Tiffany Arafi tied for fourth entering final round

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's golf team shot a two-over 290 in Saturday's second round of the Lady Paladin Invitational, and enter Sunday's third and final round tied for second with a six-over 582 (292-290).
 
Tiffany Arafi leads the Chants, finishing Saturday's action with a two-under 70. She shot a one-under 34 on the front nine and shot another one-under (36) on the second nine. Arafi finished the round with three birdies and only one bogey, which came on the final hole of the round. She will enter tomorrow's action tied for fourth overall with a two-day total of 142 (72-70).
 
Freshman Sara Sarrion continued her strong debut finishing Saturday with an even-par 72, shooting a 34 on the opening nine holes and finishing the day with a 38 on the second nine. She is tied for 11th heading into the final round with a one-over 145 (73-72).
 
Sophia Carlsen and Jenjira Jinangkul each shot a two-over 74 in the second round. Both players finished the action with 37's on both front and back nine with Carlsen ending the second round tied for 17th with a three-over 147 (73-74).
 
Jinangkul will move into Sunday's final round tied for 23rd with a four-over 148 (74-74).
 
Caitlin Evans-Brand is tied at 48th after finishing Saturday's action with a six-over 78. She has a two-day score of 155 (77-78).
 
Another freshman Isabella Spinazze continues her CCU debut, playing as an individual. She shot a 10-over 82 in the round and enters tomorrow tin 71st at 164 (82-82).
 
"It was another solid day of golf," head coach Katie Quinney said. "We need to stay patent and wait on the putts to fall tomorrow and finish with a great round. We are hitting the ball great and putting ourselves in position for a strong finish."
 
Host Furman University is pulling away in the event standing 19-under par with a 557 (280-277). Tied with CCU in second is North Florida at six-over 582 (296-286), Fellow Sun Belt Conference member Georgia Southern is in fourth place at nine-over 585 (295-290).
 
Augusta rounds out the top five at 11-over with a 587 (295-292). The second five is made up of Western Kentucky (+16, 592), James Madison (+17, 593), UNCW (+18, 594), Memphis (+20, 597), and Stetson (+25, 601).
 
Wofford (+34, 610), Florida Gulf Coast (+39, 615), and Daytona State College (+48 (642) round out the field.
