Chanticleers Track & Field Ready for Gamecock Opener on Saturday

Chanticleers will open up the indoor season in Columbia, S.C.
CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's indoor track & field team will open up the 2022 indoor track & field season at the Gamecock Opener this Saturday, Jan. 15, in Columbia, S.C. The one-day meet is slated to start at 9 a.m. ET inside the Carolina Indoor Track & Field Complex.
Spectators will be allowed. Masking is required and spectators will be restricted to non-team areas. Tickets are $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for those 17 and under, while kids 2-years old and under are free. Tickets are cash only and seating is limited.
The Chanticleers will send a total of 30 student-athletes to compete at the indoor event headlined by 2021 Sun Belt Conference Women's Indoor Track & Field Most Outstanding Freshman and Newcomer of the Year in Jermaisha Arnold and 2020 Sun Belt Conference Women's Indoor Track & Field Most Outstanding Freshman and Newcomer of the Year in Melissa Jefferson.
Fellow 2021 indoor track & field All-Sun Belt Conference honorees Lauren Gordon (second team) and Shani'a Bellamy (second team), 2021 outdoor track & field All-Sun Belt Conference selection Kayla Sweeney (first team), as well as 2021 cross country All-Sun Belt honorees Molly Jones (first team) and Meagan Moreno (third team) will also compete in multiple events on Saturday.
