DELAND, Fla. – The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team tallied eight wins – six singles and two doubles victories – on Friday, Nov. 4, on day one of the Stetson Invitational in DeLand, Fla.
 
In doubles action, the duo of Lilie Steryous and Kata Foldeak blanked their opponents Cade Cricchio of Florida State and Tess Menten of Stetson 6-0, while the pair of Victoire De Samucewicz and Isabella Weatherhead doubled up Maxence Lippens and Daliyah Hammoud of Stetson 6-3 for the win.
 
Samucewicz made it 2-for-2 on Friday with a 7-5, 6-4 win over Vic Allen of Florida State in singles play, as did Foldeak and Steryous with their wins in singles action. Foldeak held on for a 6-2, 7-5 win over Cricchio, while Steryous fought hard to win 7-6 (4), 7-6 (8) over Dariana Prato of Jacksonville State.
 
The other three singles wins came by way of Tatum Burger, Jesse Hollins, and Megan Hopton, all in straight sets.
 
Burger defeated Zuzana Pavelekova of Jacksonville State 6-3, 6-4, while Hollins cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win over Lippens. Hopton upended Hammoud in straight sets, 4-1, 4-1.
 
The Chanticleers will continue play at the Stetson Invitational tomorrow starting at 9 a.m. ET.
