Coastal Softball Releases 2023 Spring Slate

The Chanticleers will host four tournaments to start the season
CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina softball head coach Kelley Green is excited to announce the 2023 schedule, as the Chanticleers will host four multi-team tournaments and a total of 38 home games at St. John Stadium in Conway, S.C.
"We are excited about building upon the big strides we made last year," stated Coach Green. "Our chemistry and dugout culture have remained strong, and we have added some talented new faces in the program."

Coastal will kick off the 2023 season with the Kickin' Chicken Classic on Feb. 9-12, hosting UMass Lowell, Towson, Penn State, and South Dakota, playing six games in four days.
The Chants will then host Drexel, Colgate, and East Carolina for the Battle at the Beach on Feb. 17-19, before turning around to host the Chanticleer Showdown on Feb. 24-26, which will include Albany, St. Joseph's, and Mount St. Mary's.
Coach Green's squad will hit the road for the first time for The Spring Games in Madeira Beach, Fla., on March 3-5, in which the Chanticleers are scheduled to take on Bethune-Cookman (March 3), Middle Tennessee (March 3), Hofstra (March 4), Central Michigan (March 5), and Creighton (March 5).
The next 10 games will come at home at St. John Stadium, starting with a midweek contest versus the Campbell Fighting Camels on March 8 and then five games combined versus Ohio State, Houston Christian, and Canisius as part of the Beach Chicken Brawl on March 10-12.
The home stand will then continue with a midweek contest against North Carolina on March 14 and the opening weekend of Sun Belt Conference play with three games versus new member James Madison on March 17-19.
After a midweek contest at Charleston Southern on March 21 and a three-game conference series at Georgia State on March 24-26, the Chants will return home to host Georgia Southern for three games on March 31-Apri 2 and then welcome Charlotte to Conway for a non-conference midweek tilt on April 4.
CCU will then hit the road for a three-game conference series at Troy on April 6-8, return home to host another conference newcomer in Marshall for three games on April 14-16, and then head south one more time for a three-game SBC series at Southern Miss on April 21-23.
The final home stand of the season will include a midweek bout versus the College of Charleston on April 25 and a three-game series with Louisiana on April 28-30, prior to the Chants wrapping up the regular-season schedule on the road at Appalachian State from May 4-6 in Boone, N.C.
The 2023 Sun Belt Conference Softball Championship Tournament will be hosted this year by Louisiana at Yvette Girouard Field at Lamson Park in Lafayette, La., from May 10-13.
