Montoya Named to NFCA Top Performances List

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Coastal Carolina softball senior Abbey Montoya was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Top Performances list, the organization announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Montoya came up with multiple big hits over the opening weekend in the Kickin' Chicken Classic', as the Chanticleers finished 3-2. Her first career walk-off grand slam propelled CCU to a thrilling 13-9 win over Georgetown on Saturday.
For the weekend, she posted a .421 batting average with nine hits, 11 RBIs, and four home runs while also finishing the weekend with a 1.105 slugging percentage and .450 on-base percentage (1.555 OPS).
The Chanticleers will remain at home and welcome Fordham, Marshall, and South Carolina to St. John Stadium for the Battle at the Beach, Feb. 18-20.
