DELAND, Fla. – The Coastal Carolina beach volleyball team fell in both matches on day two of the Stetson Beach Bash, suffering a pair of losses to not one, but two nationally-ranked top-15 teams in No. 13 Georgia State and No. 10 FAU.
 
Coastal ends the weekend at 15-8 overall on the season.
 
No. 13 Georgia State 5, Coastal Carolina 0
 
Coastal would get the day started with a dual against Georgia State, falling to the nationally-ranked No. 13 Panthers 5-0 in the first match of the day.
 
At the No. 2 flight, the team of Natalie Honzovicova and Ellie Hanford bounced back from a first-set 21-16 loss to take the second set 21-17. However, the Panther's pair of Eden Hawes and Maddy Delmonte held off the Chants' duo to pick up a 15-6 third-set win and take the 2-1 match victory.
 
In the No. 1 flight, the pair of Sarah Riedell and Martine Kragholm pushed the tandem of Kelly Dorn and Elise Saga of Georgia State to the limit in three sets before dropping the match 21-18, 18-21, 15-11.
 
No. 10 FAU 5, Coastal Carolina 0
 
In the final match of the two-day event, the Sandy Chants suffered another setback with a 5-0 loss to No. 10 FAU to close out the weekend at the Stetson Beach Bash.
 
The No. 10 Owls would jump out to a 3-0 lead with wins on courts No. 5 (21-18, 21-17), No. 4 (21-12, 20-22, 18-16), No. 3 (21-18, 21-14), and No. 1 (21-15, 21-12).

On court No. 2, the Chants' team of Madie Lichty and Honzovicova pushed the match to three sets with a 21-18 first-set win, yet came up just short in the third set with a 15-13 loss to drop the match and gives the Owls a 5-0 sweep.
 
The Sandy Chants will return to action as they host the Carolina Challenge on Friday and Saturday, April 8-9.
