CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse team will close out the season-opening six-game road trip this week with back-to-back games against VCU (Wednesday, March 9) and a neutral site matchup against Lehigh ( Friday, March 11), with the opening draw for both contests scheduled for noon ET.
The Chanticleers are 2-2 on the year, having dropped their last contest against the No. 17 nationally-ranked Richmond Spiders last Friday.
The Rams enter play with a 2-2 record, including a season-opening matchup with No. 20 John Hopkins, while the Mountain Hawks enter the week with a 1-3 mark with a home contest against Sienna scheduled for March 8.

ABOUT COASTAL
The Chants are led by
Lauren Cremen (7 goals),
Avery McIlwaine (6 goals),
Kayla Downey (5 goals), and
Abi George (4 goals), while
Hannah Demis,
Hannah Close,
Avery Snyder, and
Monica Manley each have added three goals. Demis and Downey are the top two assists leaders for the Chants with seven and four assists, respectively.
Defensively, Coastal goalkeeper
Claire Martell has faced 104 shots and made 33 saves on the season, while
Marissa Munson has caused six turnovers, with
Claudia Kelly and Downey chipping in with three caused turnovers apiece.
ABOUT VCU
Virginia Commonwealth is led by Kelsey McDonnell with nine goals and Juliana George with seven scores. The Rams' George is leading the team with seven assists, with Meghan McLaughlin and Morgan Reed adding four assists apiece on the young season.
On the defensive end, Meghna Dawar has started all four matches between the pipes and has made 57 saves while facing 144 shots. Ali Zadeh and Leah Spalding have helped stop the opponents' offense from scoring by causing three turnovers each, while Dawar (12) and Annie Morris (7) have grabbed a combined 19-of-65 ground balls.
ABOUT LEHIGH
Lehigh is led by Gabby Schneider with 11 goals, while Katia Carnevale and Olivia Memeger each have added eight and seven goals, respectively. The Mountain Hawks' Emma Eberhardt and Schneider are leading the team with eight assists, with Memeger adding seven assists.
On the defensive end, Delaney Galvin has started all four matches between the pipes and has made 48 saves while facing 117 shots. Carnevale (6), Emma McGillis (5), and Schneider (5) have helped stop the opponents' offense from scoring by causing a combined 19-of-44 turnovers each, while Hayley Hunt (11) and Jenna Garden (8) have grabbed a combined 19 ground balls.
