CHANTS LAST TIME OUT
Coastal enters the weekend 18-24 overall and 4-14 in SBC play after falling, 5-4, to Charlotte in a midweek non-conference matchup on Wednesday.

Maddy Jennings sent a leadoff home run over the center-field fence for her sixth home run of the season and put CCU up 1-0 in the top of the second inning before knocking her second solo shot of the day and seventh of the season in the top of the fourth and pull the Chants within one, 3-2.

With two outs in the top of the fifth, Shae Schreckengost sent a bases-loaded single to center field that drove home pincher runner Kennedy EllisKeirstin Roose, and put Jennings on third and make the score 4-3.

The 49ers retook the lead in the bottom of the sixth, as Bailey Vannoy doubled to left-center field to send home Lexi Wagner and Mekayla Frazier, who walked in the previous at-bats, to put the hosts up 5-4.

Five different Chanticleers saw action in the circle against Charlotte, as Maddie Redman (0-1) suffered her first loss of the season.

Jennings was the offensive catalyst at the plate for CCU as the freshman finished the night a perfect 3-for-3 while smacking two home runs and drawing one base on balls against the 49ers.

RAGIN' CAJUNS LAST TIME OUT
(RV) Louisiana enters the series 35-11 overall and 17-4 in conference play after picking up a 5-1 midweek victory over Houston on Wednesday.

Meghan Schorman retired the side in order in three of the five full innings she worked and faced only three batters over the minimum. The only time the Cougars moved a runner past second base was on a leadoff home run in the fifth inning.

Sophie Piskos gave Louisiana and Schorman all the separation the Cajuns needed when she launched a two-run home run down the left-field line for a 3-0 advantage in the third inning.

The win extended Louisiana's home winning streak to seven games and was the squad's 20th win in the past 24 games, overall, since March 16.
