CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina men's tennis head coach Chris Powers has announced the signing of two incoming freshmen for the upcoming 2024 spring season.
 
On National Signing Day, CCU inked Argentine-freshman Juan Cruz Collardin and sophomore transfer Eric Tripathi to National Letters of Intent, officially adding the pair to the 2024 spring roster.
 
Collardin attended the San Ignacio de Tandil School in his hometown of Buenos Aires, Argentina. He joins the Chanticleers as the current 14^th nationally ranked player in Argentina, and with an ITF (International Tennis Federation) ranking as high as 582.
 
Tripathi, a JUCO transfer from Eastern Florida State College and Australia native, arrives at CCU coming off five first-team recognitions and two AAGPS Championships at Newington College. This week, he was announced as the eighth-ranked singles player among JUCO athletes for the 2023 season. In recent years, Tripathi has added doubles wins against LSU, South Carolina and Virginia Tech opposition to his resume. He was also named to the Eastern Florida State College All-Academic First Team, posting a 4.0 GPA his freshman year.
 
"This is the first time in my career brining in two new players in January, so it will be interesting to see these guys jump right into the mix of the team," Powers said regarding the team's newest signings.
 
"Both of these guys have the ability to make a difference right away. I was really pleased with our performance this fall and hopefully we can continue to build on some very positive results with these new guys joining the program."
 
Coastal Carolina men's tennis kicks off its 2024 spring season on Jan. 15 when it welcomes Central Florida to the Stevens Tennis Complex.
