Coastal Carolina attack tallied 11 points in two games combined
ATLANTA, Ga. – Senior attack Kayla Downey of the Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse team was tabbed the ASUN Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week for her performances last week versus Boston and Iona, it was announced by the league's office in Atlanta, Ga., on Tuesday afternoon.
It is the first career ASUN weekly award for Downey.
Downey recorded back-to-back hat tricks in leading the Chants to a pair of victories last week. She tallied three goals on four shots in the win over the Boston Terriers. She followed that performance with five goals and three assists over Iona. The Babylon, N.Y., native combined for 11 points (8 goals, 3 assists) and 84.6 shots on goal percentage.
Coastal will wrap up its season-opening eight-game home stand this week, as the Chanticleers will host Marist on Friday, March 17. The opening draw is scheduled for noon ET.
