CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina softball team (28-9) will look to extend its four-game win streak against the Charlotte 49ers at St. John Stadium on Tuesday.

  • The Chants notched two shutout wins last weekend, which included an 8-0 victory in five innings after Keith crushed an RBI double to close out the game.
  • CCU rallied from a 3-0 deficit on Saturday to come back for a 5-4 victory with the help of a sacrifice fly, a single from Abbey Montoya, and a double by Riley Zana.
  • Raelee Brabham pitched a complete-game shutout during Coastal's 8-0 win over GS on Friday, in which she only gave up one hit.

  • The 49ers are coming off the back of a 2-1 three-game series win against Western Kentucky. Charlotte suffered a 3-0 shutout loss in game one but fought back to serve an 11-0 shutout win of its own in game two and then record a 6-3 win in the series-deciding game.
  • The 49ers have utilized the long ball this season and have hit 47 home runs, including four in their last game.
  • Graduate student Kassidy Krupit leads the team with a .386 batting average and smashed a two-run home run against WKU on Sunday.
  • Sam Gress is the starting pitcher for the 49ers with a 13-6 record in the circle. Gress is atop the team with a 1.83 ERA and has struck out 79 hitters in her 114.2 innings of work.
  • The 49ers have beaten three nationally ranked teams over the season in #13 Georgia, 6-5 (Feb 19), #23 Arizona State, 11-5 (March 3), and #11 Virginia Tech, 3-2 (March 22).
  • Both the Chants and the 49ers have faced Campbell this season. CCU downed the Camels 2-0 but Charlotte suffered a 6-1 loss.
History Against
  • CCU has a 9-5 all-time series record against Charlotte and has an undefeated 3-0 record when playing at St. John Stadium.
  • The Chants last faced the 49ers in April 2022 where they narrowly lost 5-4. Maddy Jennings had a stellar performance in the matchup where she went 3-for-3 at the plate and hammered two home runs on the day.
  • The Chants are on a two-game losing streak to the 49ers but have won seven out of their last 10 games in the series.
  • Before last year's matchup, it had been 18 years since the two teams had faced each other on the diamond.
