Women’s tennis will return home to host ODU on April 14

JONESBORO, Ark. – The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team concluded its regular-season road slate with a 4-0 win over the Arkansas State Red Wolves on Saturday morning in Jonesboro, Ark.

With the win, CCU moved to 15-5 overall and 7-1 in league play.

The Chanticleers' final three regular-season matches will be at home at the Stevens Tennis Complex.

Coastal got back in a big way in doubles play, as the duo of Victoire De Samucewicz and Jesse Hollins blanked A-State's pair of Anna Borovinskaya and Abigail Thurmer 6-0 on court No. 3, while the team of Anna Babayan and Megan Hopton dominated in a 6-1 victory over Sarah Millard and Sofia Vdovychenko on court No. 2.

With a 1-0 lead, the Chants quickly dispatched the Red Wolves in singles play to end the match with a 4-0 win.

Hopton cruised to a 6-3, 6-1 win over Vdovychenko on court No. 3, while fellow Chant Lilie Steryous easily handled Borovinskaya 6-2, 6-3 on court No. 6 to put the Women in Teal in front 3-0 in the match.

CCU's Tatum Burger would seal the win with a 6-2, 6-2 beat down of Thurmer on court No. 4 to put the Chants at 7-1 in Sun Belt Conference play with the road victory.

Coastal will open up its season-ending three-match home stand versus Old Dominion on Friday, April 14, at 10 a.m. ET. The Chants will then host James Madison on April 16 and Troy on April 22.
