Omidvar Leading Shell Shock in Summer TBT Tournament

Men's basketball assistant enters his second season with the Chants
CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's basketball assistant coach Nima Omidvar, is spending his summer as the head coach of the Shell Shock basketball team in the The Basketball Tournament (TBT) which is being shown on the ESPN family of networks.
The TBT is a professional basketball tournament which is in its' 10th season of competition where 64 teams compete in a single-elimination tournament with the championship team awarded $1,000,000.
The Shell Shock is composed of mostly former players at the University of Maryland, where Omidvar coached from 2014-18 and opened tournament play with a 77-74 victory over No. 5 Gataverse, a team made up of former Florida players.
The win moves the Shell Shock into the second round against top-ranked Gutta Cat on Thursday, July 27, at 6 p.m. ET.
