CONWAY, S.C. – The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced Wednesday afternoon that Coastal Carolina University and the Myrtle Beach Regional Sports Alliance will host a 2027 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Regional Championship. The NCAA Regional will be played at TPC Myrtle Beach in Murrells Inlet, S.C. TPC Myrtle Beach will be one of six host sites, along with Bloomington, Ind. (host Indiana University), Stillwater, Okla. (host Oklahoma State), Lubbock, Texas (host Texas Tech), Marana, Ariz. (host Arizona), and Loudon, Tenn. (host Tennessee).
This will be the third NCAA Golf Regional played in Myrtle Beach. The first was held in 1989 when the Long Bay Golf Club hosted the event and the second came when TPC Myrtle Beach hosted the 2019 Regional for the first time.
TPC Myrtle Beach is a 6,950-yard, par-72 Tim Fazio-designed course and has hosted 11 General Hackler Championships and the 2000 Senior PGA Tour Championship. The course opened in 1999 and is known as one of the premier Myrtle Beach Golf Courses. It has received 18 national awards during its 25 years of existence to go along with its 18 award-winning holes.
TPC Myrtle Beach is also home to the Dustin Johnson Golf School, which was named as a Top Golf Academy in the Southeast by Golf Digest. Johnson played his collegiate golf for Coastal Carolina and is also a member of the CCU George F. "Buddy" Sasser Hall of Fame (class of 2012).
