Chants Travel to Lexington to Face Kentucky

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's soccer team will hit the road to face Kentucky on Oct. 27. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.

Coastal owns a 3-8-2, 1-3-2 Sun Belt record.
The Chants picked of back-to-back Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week honorees after Harrison Gough followed in Gudjon Stefansson's footsteps and was selected on Tuesday. Gough was also named to the TopDrawerSoccer Men's Soccer National Team of the Week after recording a career-high nine saves versus No. 3 Marshall.
Loed Klaasen recorded his first career goal and Jimson St. Louis tallied his first assist in Teal and Bronze versus Old Dominion on Wednesday.
Coastal averages 11.6 shots per match and owns a .384 shots-on-goal percentage.
The Chants have now recorded four multi-goal matches this season.

Last Time Out

Coastal fell to the Old Dominion Monarchs, 3-2.
ODU took the lead in the 20th minute when William Arnesen found the back of the net to make the score 1-0.
CCU answered back in the 29th minute when Klaasen scored his first collegiate goal off an assist from Evan Howard and Lincoln Ulrich.
The Monarchs regained the lead for a second time in the 37th minute to end the first frame at 2-1.
In the 55th minute Deryn Armstrong leveled the score at 2-2 after netting his second goal of the season.
ODU put the match to rest in the 71st minute when Evan Watt scored the game-winning goal to give the Monarchs the 3-2 victory.

History Against

CCU owns a 1-2-3 record versus Kentucky.
The Chants have tied their last two matches against Kentucky and are looking to pick up their first road win versus the Wildcats.
Last time out, Howard scored a penalty kick to secure the 1-1 tie.
Over the six encounters, Coastal has been outscored 6-4.

Scouting the Opponent

Kentucky has a 3-5-5, 2-2-2 Sun Belt record on the year.
The Wildcats are sitting on a two-match losing streak after falling to James Madison, 2-0, and Central Florida, 2-1.
Kentucky's two conference wins came against South Carolina and Old Dominion. The Wildcats also recorded a 0-0 tie versus No. 6 West Virginia.
Logan Dorsey tops the team with five goals and two game-winners while Josh Gordon leads with four assists on the year.
Goalkeeper Ryan Jack won back-to-back Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week awards and has recorded 22 saves on the season.
