CONWAY ---- Coastal Carolina Athletics broke the departmental record for the fifth consecutive semester with a 3.425 GPA, the department announced Thursday.
Six teams - baseball, men's basketball, men's track and field, women's track and field, lacrosse and softball - earned their highest GPA in program history during the fall semester.
"The achievements of our student-athletes at Coastal Carolina is evidence of our commitment to ensuring their success first in the classroom and second on their respective fields of competition," said Michael T. Benson, Coastal Carolina University President. "We are so proud of these young student-athletes and how hard they work in representing our university so well."
This accomplishment marks 21-straight semesters of a 3.0 or better departmental GPA.
"I am thrilled that our athletic department achieved a fifth consecutive record-breaking semester overall GPA of 3.425 for the fall semester," said Chance Miller, Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics and University Recreation. "This accomplishment reflects the dedication of our student-athletes in the classroom and the exceptional leadership of Alise Svihla, along with the hard work of our Student-Athlete Academic Services team.
"It also highlights the strong partnership between athletics and the university community, its professors, and leadership. This achievement is a testament to our unwavering commitment to the holistic development of our student-athletes, ensuring they are not only successful on the field but also well-prepared in the classroom and for life after sports and school."

- 419 student-athletes earned Chauncey's Honor Roll recognition (3.0 GPA or better).
