Women's Golf Finishes Second at the Rivertowne Invitational

Karg finishes one stroke off the lead
MT. PLEASANT, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina University women's golf team finished third at the Rivertowne Invitational finishing with an 8-over 872 (283-297-292) at the Rivertowne Country Club in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
Hannah Karg finished one stroke off the lead with a three-under 213 (68-74-71) and was tied for second. Varatkarn Kunkaew was CCU's second player with a top-10 finish. The freshman finished tied for ninth with a one-over 217 (71-75-71).
Junior Sara Sarrion had a solid two days and finished tied for 14th with a four-over 220 (71-74-75), while Luisa Gibson finished tied for 19th with a six-over 222 (73-74-75).
Sophomore Isabella Galla played as an individual and finished tied for 69th with a 22-over 238 (77-84-77), while junior Isabella Spinazze finished 75th with a 33-over 249 (88-79-82).
Richmond held on to win the Invitational just three strokes in front of the Chants. Elon (+12), host Charleston Southern (+14), and High Point (+18) rounded out the top five.
USC Upstate (+30) was sixth, while UNC Asheville and Morehead State tied for seventh at 32-over par. Longwood (+34) was ninth followed by Winthrop (+36).
The rest of the field included UAB (+40), Fairleigh Dickinson (+55) with Murray State (+56) and Radford (+56) tied for 13th followed by The Citadel (+134).
The Chanticleers will be back in action March 9-10 at the Valspar Invitational held at the Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.
