Coastal Softball Faces No. 16 Boston in Rematch Tuesday

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina softball team will look to take revenge on the No. 16 Boston Terriers tomorrow at St. John Stadium. First pitch is at 6 p.m. ET.
 
LAST TIME OUT
  • The Chants went 4-1 at the Beach Chicken Brawl, picking up wins over George Mason and Ohio while falling to No. 23/24 Boston.
  • Indya Smith smashed a walk-off home run to secure a 6-4 win over Ohio on Saturday.
  • Ava Hampton led the team with a .364 batting average over the weekend, recording a run, four hits, and one RBI.
  • CCU recorded two shutout wins last weekend. The Chants now have nine shutouts total, which ranks them tied for fourth in the NCAA.
  • Raelee Brabham went a perfect 4-0 in the circle and has recorded nine consecutive victories.
 SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
 
  • Four batters in the BU starting lineup are hitting over .400 with Kayla Roncin leading the team with a .478 batting average.
  • Kasey Ricard pitched a five-inning perfect game versus CCU on Sunday, the ninth in program history. This was also her second no-hitter on the season as she recorded her first versus Binghamton (Feb. 09)
  • BU has recorded three no-hitters on the year,  the most by the Terriers since 2009.
  • Lauren Keleher leads the team with four home runs and 16 RBIs on the year.
  • The Terriers rank in the top 20 in the nation in batting average (0.339), earned run average (1.48), fielding percentage (0.979), scoring (6.89), and winning percentage (0.944).
HISTORY AGAINST
  • CCU has a 1-2 series record versus the Terriers.
  • The Chants suffered an 8-0 shutout loss in their last meeting on Sunday.
  • Coastal has a 1-1 record at home versus the Terriers.
