CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina softball team will take on their seventh Power Five opponent of the season in Georgia Tech this Wednesday at St. John Stadium. First pitch is at 6 p.m. ET.
 
LAST TIME OUT

• The Chants dropped their conference-opening three-game series to the Troy Trojans, 2-1.
• CCU took the first game 7-4, marking its first conference win of the season along with head coach Kelley Green's 800th career win.
• Coastal looked to take the second game on Saturday when the Chanticleers stormed to an 11-5 lead with the help of a three-run homer from Maddy Jennings and a bomb by Georgia Hood. However, the Trojans fought back, scoring eight runs in the last two innings to take the win 13-12.
• The Chants sent the series-deciding game into extra innings on a two-run double by Riley Zana and an RBI single by Hope McDonald but the Trojans crushed two homers in the ninth inning to take the 8-6 victory.

 SCOUTING THE OPPONENT

• Georgia Tech has a 19-10 overall record and is 7-2 in the ACC.
• Five of Tech's 19 wins have concluded due to the run rule.
• Georgia Tech's 55 home runs rank them fourth in the nation.
• Georgia Tech is ranked in the top 10 of the NCAA in on-base percentage (.434), slugging percentage (.623), home runs (55), runs per game (7.14), and walks (112).
• The Yellow Jackets have three players with at least nine home runs in Sara Beth Allen (9), Mallorie Black (11), and Madison Dobbins (11).
• Black and Dobbins are first and second in the ACC with 39 and 38 RBIs, respectively.
• Black leads the team with a .411 batting average.
• Kinsey Norton leads the pitching staff with a 2.86 ERA.

 HISTORY AGAINST

• CCU has a 5-6 record versus Georgia Tech.
• The Chants have been outscored 53-36 in their 11 meetings.
• Coastal suffered an 11-3 defeat when it last played the Yellow Jackets on Feb. 10, 2013.
• CCU's largest margin of victory came on March 24, 2001, when the Chants took a 7-3 win.
