Chants Take On Georgia Tech in Midweek Contest

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina softball team will take on their seventh Power Five opponent of the season in Georgia Tech this Wednesday at St. John Stadium. First pitch is at 6 p.m. ET.
 
LAST TIME OUT
  • The Chants dropped their conference-opening three-game series to the Troy Trojans, 2-1.
  • CCU took the first game 7-4, marking its first conference win of the season along with head coach Kelley Green's 800th career win.
  • Coastal looked to take the second game on Saturday when the Chanticleers stormed to an 11-5 lead with the help of a three-run homer from Maddy Jennings and a bomb by Georgia Hood. However, the Trojans fought back, scoring eight runs in the last two innings to take the win 13-12.
  • The Chants sent the series-deciding game into extra innings on a two-run double by Riley Zana and an RBI single by Hope McDonald but the Trojans crushed two homers in the ninth inning to take the 8-6 victory.
 SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
  • Georgia Tech has a 19-10 overall record and is 7-2 in the ACC.
  • Five of Tech's 19 wins have concluded due to the run rule.
