Match Recap: Women's Tennis |

Chants Cruise Past Murray State 6-1

CONWAY, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team (8-5, 2-1 SBC) defeated the Murray State Racers (7-5, 0-0 MVC) today in a non-conference matchup at the Stevens Tennis Complex. 

Murray State took the opening doubles point with seniors Kata Foldeak and Cecile Morin coming away with the lone win for the Chants over the Racer's Sarah Bureau and Annika Pschorr 6-3.  

The Chants recovered in singles play, taking all six individual matchups with three coming in straight sets. Jesse Hollins, Foldeak and Aida Maria Mitrache put CCU in front following their singles wins with Hollins defeating Emma Honore 6-4, 6-3, Foldeak besting Natalie Slezakova 6-4, 6-4 and Mitrache taking down Marit Kreugel in a second set tiebreaker. Hollins extended her singles win streak to six with her win today. She is also 9-1 in over the last three weeks of play.  

Nicole Abel, Anna Babayan and Cecile Morin later clinched the outright victory for Coastal, giving the Chants their eighth win of the year. 

Following the win over Murray State, the Chants will return to Sun Belt Conference play with a road matchup against the Georgia Southern Eagles on Monday, Mar. 25 at 10 A.M ET.
