Coastal Faces Georgia Southern in SBC Matchup on Monday

CONWAY, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina women's tennis team (8-5, 2-1 SBC) returns to Sun Belt Conference play, as they travel to Statesboro, Ga. for a matchup against the Georgia Southern Eagles (12-2, 1-1 SBC).
The Chants defeated Murray State in their previous outing in a 6-1 win over the Racers in a non-conference meeting at the Stevens Tennis Complex. Coastal took all six individual matchups after dropping the opening doubles point. Jesse Hollins, Kata Foldeak and Aida Maria Mitrache put CCU in front following their singles wins with Hollins defeating Emma Honore 6-4, 6-3, Foldeak besting Natalie Slezakova 6-4, 6-4 and Mitrache taking down Marit Kreugel in a second set tiebreaker. Hollins extended her singles win streak to six with her win today. She is also 9-1 in over the last three weeks of play.
Nicole Abel, Anna Babayan and Cecile Morin later clinched the outright victory for Coastal, giving the Chants their eighth win of the year.
CCU enters the week at 8-5 and 2-1 in Sun Belt Conference play with wins over Georgia State and Louisiana and a narrow loss to Texas State.
Georgia Southern welcomes the Chants to Statesboro coming off a 4-3 loss to Troy and a 4-1 win against Louisiana to open their conference schedule.
CCU vs. Georgia Southern will start tomorrow morning at 10 A.M. ET at the Wallis Tennis Center.
