CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina softball team will hit the road to take on the No. 21/23 Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns in a three-game series starting on March 23 in Lafayette, La.
 
LAST TIME OUT 

• The Chants suffered a 9-2 defeat to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Wednesday evening.
• GT cracked three home runs, including a grand slam, to take the victory.
• CCU scored two runs late in the seventh inning on a solo home run by Maddy Jennings and a fielder's choice.

 SCOUTING THE OPPONENT

• Louisiana are 18-13 overall and 3-0 in Sun Belt Conference play.
• The Ragin' Cajuns rank 21st and 23rd in the Softball America poll and NCAA RPI polls, respectively.
• The Ragin' Cajuns snapped No. 1 Oklahoma's NCAA record 71-game winning streak (March. 03)
• Louisiana has played four ranked opponents in No. 1 Oklahoma,  No. 2 Texas, No. 12 Stanford, and No. 22 Baylor.
• The Ragin' Cajuns have posted a 2-7 record versus ranked opponents.
• Louisiana will be looking to improve on its 7-3 home record.
• Outfielder Mihyia Davis tops the team with a .419 batting average while Maddie Hayden leads Louisiana with 27 RBIs.
• Sam Landry leads the pitching staff with a 2.33 ERA and places ninth in the nation with four shutouts in the circle.
• The Ragin' Cajuns are coming off a 5-3 loss to Louisiana Tech as they were outhit 8-4.

 HISTORY AGAINST

• CCU has a 2-22 record against the Ragin' Cajuns.
• The last meeting between the two was on April 29, 2023, when the Chants suffered a 10-6 defeat.
• The Chants will look to snap their 12-game losing game streak to Louisiana.
• Coastal has scored a total of 46 runs and average 1.92 runs per game versus the Ragin' Cajuns.
