Bates Named ASUN Player of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. – Senior forward Maddie Bates has been named ASUN Player of the Week for Apr. 8-13, per the release of this week's awards by the ASUN Conference office.
Bates scored a combined nine goals in Coastal's wins over Vanderbilt and Queens, matching a career-high with six goals against the Commodores in a 10-8 win in Nashville. The Maryland-native improved her season goal tally to 29, one shy of the team-high of 30 from senior forward Sydney McClure. Her other totals this season include one assist, 30 points, four ground balls and a caused turnover.
Bates set her original career-high in CCU's 14-9 win at Liberty on Apr. 4, her fourth multi-goal game of 2024. In her last three outings, Bates has scored 15 goals to lead the Chants to an extended winning streak of seven games.
This marks the first player of the week honor for Bates in her four-year career with the Chants. She is also the first player from Coastal to receive a player of the week honor this season.
Coastal will take on the Jacksonville Dolphins on Thursday, Apr. 18 at 3 P.M. ET at Rock Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla. in a game between two unbeatens and the current top two seeds in the ASUN Conference.
