CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina softball team will hit the road to take on the Charlotte 49ers in its ninth true road contest of the year. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. ET.

LAST TIME OUT
- The Chants took a 2-1 Sun Belt Conference series win over the Appalachian State Mountaineers.
- CCU won the final two games of the series, marking the first time the Chants have won a series after losing game one since beating the Mountaineers in a three-game series in 2021.
- Nicolette Picone pitched a complete game shutout to level the series at 1-1 and recorded her sixth save of the season in the series-deciding matchup.
- Delaney Keith and Riley Zana each hit RBI doubles to secure a 2-0 win in game two.
- Zana smashed a two-run double to drive in the series-winning run versus the Mountaineers on Sunday.
- Raelee Brabham recorded a season-high 12 strikeouts on Friday, the most strikeouts in a game by a Chants since she recorded a career-high 14 versus Charleston Southern (March 22, 2023).
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- Charlotte is 26-15 overall and 12-6 in conference play. The 49ers rank third in the AAC and 36th in the RPI standings.
- Infielder Ella Chancey was named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week this week.
- Arianna Rodi leads the team with a .364 batting average, 43 hits, 39 RBIs, and a whopping 16 home runs. Her 16 homers rank tied for seventh in the nation.
- RHP Georgeanna Barefoot leads the pitching staff with a 2.44 ERA and 66 strikeouts.
- The 49ers pitching staff has a 3.04 ERA and has seen seven different pitchers enter the circle this season.
- Charlotte is coming off a conference weekend sweep against the University of Texas San Antonio where it scored 31 runs.
HISTORY AGAINST
- CCU has a 9-6 overall record versus Charlotte and will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak.
