Chants Face Georgia State in Last Home Series

 CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina softball team will return home to take on the Georgia State Panthers in its last Sun Belt Conference home series of the season at St. John Stadium on April 26-28.
 
LAST TIME OUT
  • The Chants picked up their third series win of the season versus the Marshall Thundering Herd.
  • Coastal started the series strong, taking a 7-1 win in game one with the help of home runs from Delaney Keith, Iyanla De Jesus, and Georgia Hood.
  • After falling 9-4 in game two, the Chants turned things around in the series-decider to take a 12-3 run-rule victory.
  • Ava Hampton smashed CCU's sixth grand slam of the year, which is tied for second most in the nation behind Virginia Tech and BYU with seven apiece.
  • It was a weekend of career-highs for CCU with Kieth smashing a high of two doubles, Hampton notching highs of five RBIs, three runs, and three hits, and Libby Pippin tallying her first multi-RBI game.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
  • Georgia State has an 11-35 overall record and is 1-17 in conference play.
  • The Panthers have been swept in their last four Sun Belt series to James Madison, Marshall, Southern Miss, and South Alabama.
  • GSU's lone Sun Belt win game came against the Georgia Southern Golden Eagles, 4-3.
  • The Panthers have just one player batting over .300.
  • Chloe Nadler leads the team with a .340 average and 22 RBIs.
  • Sydney Boulware tops the pitching staff with a 4.63 ERA and has posted a 6-13 record in the circle while striking out 104 batters this season.
 
HISTORY AGAINST
  • CCU has an 11-10 record versus Georgia State.
  • The Chants will be looking to take revenge after suffering a 2-1 series loss last year.
  • Coastal has an 8-3 home record versus the Panthers.
  • Last time out, CCU took an 11-3 victory with the help of a two-run homer by Keith.
  • CCU has outscored GSU 58-41 in their last 10 matchups.
  • Head coach Kelley Green has a 6-4 record versus Georgia State.
