CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse team (7-4, 1-0 ASUN) is back on the road this week, as they are set to take on the Liberty Flames (4-7, 1-0 ASUN) tomorrow afternoon at the Liberty Lacrosse Field in Lynchburg, Va.
History vs. Liberty
In 11 previous meetings, the Chants are 3-8 against Liberty, with the most recent matchup resulting in a 17-14 win for the Flames at Brooks Stadium just a season ago. The last time Coastal defeated Liberty was back in 2016 when the Chants beat the Flames 11-10 in overtime at Brooks Stadium while both programs were still competing in the Big South Conference.

Coastal enters the week looking to extend their four-game winning streak coming off the win over Lindenwood in the ASUN Conference opener.
In the month of March, and the final matchup of February, the Chants' schedule featured five of their seven games at Brooks Stadium, concluding with the win over Lindenwood on Saturday. Over that six-game stretch, CCU defeated Elon 8-7 in a come from behind win on the road. Coastal then returned to Conway to close out their home non-conference schedule, beating Binghamton, Manhattan, High Point and Campbell.
The Chants currently feature two 20+ goalscorers in senior Sydney McClure with 24 and Monica Manley with 21. McClure also leads the team with 18 assists, resulting in a team-high 42 points. On the defensive end, senior midfielder Sydney Tornetta leads the team in ground balls with 24 and is second in caused turnovers with 10 behind sophomore defender Lily Wallace with 15.
After adding four more against Lindenwood, starting goalkeeper Charlotte Sadler has accumulated 94 saves this season, averaging 8.5 per game, which ranks 35th in the nation.
About Liberty
Liberty welcomes the Chants to Lynchburg at 4-7 on the season, also coming off an 18-11 win in their conference opener against Stetson on Mar. 29. The Flames' non-conference schedule features eight power five programs, including a matchup against Notre Dame at home on Apr. 11. The Flames' four wins this season have come against Longwood, Pittsburgh, San Diego State and Stetson.
