CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina softball team will host its second of three home tournaments at St. John Stadium from Feb. 14-16. The Chanticleers will welcome Notre Dame, Marist, Kent State, and Towson for the 10th annual Battle at the Beach.
HISTORY AGAINST
Notre Dame
- CCU owns an 0-2 record against Notre Dame.
- The Chants have been shut out in both encounters with the Fighting Irish.
- The last matchup was 20 years ago, when Coastal suffered a 2-0 loss.
Marist
- Coastal owns a 2-0 record against Marist.
- The Chants secured back-to-back shutout wins over Marist in 2009.
- CCU run-ruled the Marist Red Foxes in both encounters.
Kent State
- The Chants have a 2-6 all-time series record against Kent State.
- Coastal will be looking to snap a five-game losing streak against the Golden Flashes.
- CCU's last win came in March 1996, when the Chants took a 2-1 victory in eight innings.
Towson
- CCU has a 10-2 record against Towson.
- Over the last 10 matchups, CCU leads 9-1.
