Box Score CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's soccer team fell to the Wofford Terriers 5-2 in its home opener at the CCU Soccer Complex on Sunday evening.
- The Chants struck first in the 4th minute on a perfect link-up between Jaland Larmond and Loed Klaasen, who set up freshman Angel Lopez for his second goal of the season.
- The Terriers answered in the 15th minute, scoring on a corner set piece to level the match at 1-1.
- Wofford added two more goals in the 29th and 32nd minutes to take a 3-1 lead into halftime.
- The Terriers extended their advantage with a goal in the 77th minute to make it 4-1.
- Klaasen pulled one back for the Chants in the 83rd minute on an assist from Larmond, cutting the deficit to 4-2.
- Just one minute later, Wofford sealed the result with its fifth goal of the night to take the 5-2 victory.
- At full time, Coastal led 11-7 in shots, trailed 6-3 in corner kicks, and finished even in fouls at 13 apiece.
The Chanticleers will return to action on Sept. 5 to face Presbyterian at the CCU Soccer Complex. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.
