CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina softball team is set to face the Winthrop Eagles in a midweek tilt on Wednesday afternoon in Rock Hill, S.C.
Scouting the Opponent
- Winthrop owns a 15-14 record on the season.
- The Eagles will look to bounce back from a 2-1 series loss to Presbyterian.
- Winthrop has played one fellow Sun Belt foe in Georgia State and went 1-1 against the Panthers.
- The Eagles have five players batting over .300 this season, with Darrah Nickens leading the way with a .392 average, six home runs, and 25 RBIs.
- Lonna Addison leads the pitching staff with a 3.88 ERA, an 8-5 record, and 67 strikeouts.
- The Chants will also need to be cautious of freshman Rebecca Amos, who has earned Big South Freshman of the Week honors and ranks second on the team with a .378 batting average.
