Box Score ATLANTA, Ga. – The Coastal Carolina softball team clipped the Georgia State Panthers, 4–3, on Thursday evening in Atlanta, Ga.
The Chanticleers returned to their home run-hitting ways when Izzy Ramirez launched a two-run shot over the left field wall to give Coastal a 2–0 lead in the top of the second inning.
The Panthers responded in the bottom of the fourth inning when Lauren Brister hit a three-run homer of her own to put Georgia State ahead, 3–2.
Coastal evened the score in the top of the fifth inning, capitalizing on a pair of errors to tie the game at 3–3.
Kaelin Cash led the Chants to victory in the top of the sixth inning, belting a solo home run to secure the 4–3 win for CCU.
McKennah Metzger improved to 3–1 in the circle, allowing three runs on six hits over 6.1 innings of work.
