CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw in its Sun Belt Conference opener against the Georgia Southern Eagles on Friday evening.

With the draw, Coastal moves to 1-3-2 on the season.
The Chants got on the board in the 18th minute when Alberto de Miguel chipped the keeper off an assist from Hector Blanco to make the score 1-0.
The Eagles responded immediately when Broden Beorlegui capitalized on a penalty kick in the bottom-left corner to level the score at 1-1.
At the half, Coastal trailed 5-2 in shots and 4-1 in corner kicks.
The Eagles threatened in the 53rd minute when Charlie Votel hit the left post.
Coastal forced three saves in the second half but couldn't break through.
Will Devine made a big save in the final second to preserve the 1-1 draw.
The Chants will return to action on Sept. 22 to take on Wofford in Spartanburg, S.C. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. ET.
