Men’s Soccer Welcomes Gardner-Webb

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's soccer team will welcome the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs to the CCU Soccer Complex on Sept. 5. Kick-off is set for 6 p.m. ET.

Chant Talk

The Chanticleers have a 1-1-0 record on the season.
Adam Perron earned his first collegiate win as a head coach after the Chants shut out the Stetson Hatters 2-0 at the CCU Soccer Complex on Aug. 29.
Baxter Hurt bagged his first goal for the Chants and the second of his career when his header found the back of the net on a free-kick set piece.
Mateo Caride scored his second goal of the year in the 67th minute versus the Hatters.
The sophomore also ranks first in the Sun Belt with a .750 shots-on-goal percentage.
Pearse O'Brien tops the league with three assists on the season.
Will Devine recorded his second shutout of the season, making three saves against Stetson.

Scouting the Opponent

Gardner-Webb is 0-1-1 on the season.
The Runnin' Bulldogs suffered a 2-0 loss to fellow Sun Belt foe James Madison in their season opener before most recently drawing with Davidson 0-0.
Gardner-Webb is led by first-year head coach Jonathan Lagos, who previously served as an associate head coach at UNCG for the past nine years.
The Runnin' Bulldogs are yet to score a goal this season. As a team, they have taken 19 shots, with six on frame.
Oliver Weng is the starting keeper and has made nine saves with a .750 save percentage on the season to date.

Coastal has an 8-2-1 record versus Gardner-Webb.
The Chants are 4-1 at home against the Runnin' Bulldogs.
