McKewn Dannelly

McKewn Dannelly spent six seasons (1999-2004) as an assistant coach on Jess Dannelly’s softball staff at Coastal Carolina. McKewn, Coach Dannelly’s oldest son, serves as the infield coach of the Lady Chanticleers.

McKewn, a majored in Recreation and Leisure Services and helped Coastal Carolina to berths into three NCAA Regionals. The 2001 CCU squad ranked in the top-10 in NCAA Division I in double plays turned.

The 1997 graduate of Conway High School lettered three seasons in baseball for the Tigers. As a player, McKewn helped the American Legion Post 111 squad to a fourth place finish in the state tournament in 1996 and a runner-up finish in 1997. He posted a perfect fielding percentage in 1997 while starting 18 of 20 games at second base.

McKewn then turned to coaching the American Legion Post 111 team, serving as an Assistant Coach in 1999 and 2000. Post 111 won the Region Championship in 1999 and placed second in the region in 2000.
