Christie Kaestner is in her third year overall and second season as an assistant coach for the Chanticleer lacrosse program.

Kaestner primarily works with the offense, serves as the program’s recruiting coordinator, and assists in all other aspects of the program.

Under Kaestner’s direction, the 2013 Chanticleer women’s lacrosse team, which consisted mainly of freshmen, scored 159 goals and finished the season with 221 points. Four Chants scored over 20 goals while three eclipsed the 30-point mark. Additionally, three players received the Big South’s Freshman of the Week award throughout the season for their offensive performances.

The Chants’ biggest offensive output in the 2013 season came on March 2 at Kennesaw State. In the first win in the program’s history, the Chanticleer offense found the back of the net 21 times and had nine different players record a point.

Kaestner was a standout player at Duke where she accumulated multiple awards and records. As a senior in 2011, Kaestner earned first-team All-American and first-team All-ACC honors as she led the Blue Devils to the NCAA Semifinals. She was also tabbed to the IWLCA All-South Region team in both 2010 and 2011.

During her senior campaign, Kaestner set the Duke single-season assists record with 47 on her way to ranking second all-time with 98.

Kaestner finished her Blue Devil career with 93 goals and 98 assists to rank ninth all-time in the Duke annals with 191 points.

Kaestner, a three-time member of the ACC Honor Roll, graduated in 2011 with a bachelor of arts in sociology, as well as a markets and management certificate.
