Kelly Hamilton joined the Coastal Carolina lacrosse staff as an assistant coach in 2015. Hamilton is a former women's lacrosse standout from Lock Haven University where she was a four-year starter under current Chanticleer head coach Kristen Selvage from 2012-15.

Hamilton was a three-year captain at Lock Haven where she totaled 199 career points on 163 goals and 36 assists in 75 games. Her leadership and play resulted in the Bald Eagles making consecutive trips to the NCAA Division II tournament from 2013-15, including back-to-back championship appearances and #2 national rankings in 2014 and '15.

Hamilton closed her playing career as a two-time Division II IWLCA All-American and All-Region selection, earning the four honors her junior and senior seasons. She was additionally a three-time All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) honoree, and was named MVP of the PSAC Championship in 2014 as LHU claimed the conference title. The Bald Eagles repeated as conference champions in the 2015 season, Hamilton's final year at LHU.

In addition to her on-field performance, Hamilton was a dean's list and honor roll student at Lock Haven, and served as Secretary of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Prior to joining Coastal's staff, Hamilton gained coaching experience serving as a coach and counselor at Lock Haven lacrosse camps. She also coached for Ultimate Lacrosse, a club team based in Pennsylvania.

In 2016, Hamilton's inaugural season at Coastal, she led the Chants to an 11-7 overall record, including a 5-3 mark in Big South play to earn the No. 4 seed in the conference playoffs. In the tournament opener, Hamilton helped Coastal overtime an 8-4 halftime deficit to notch a 9-8 victory over Liberty in double overtime.

Hamilton graduated from Lock Haven in 2015 with a B.S. in sports administration and a minor in exercise psychology.
