Scott Aligo (ahh-lee-go) was tabbed as Coastal Carolina football's first ever general manager, joining the program in early 2025.
Aligo, who brings both college and NFL experience, joins Teal Nation after a three-year stint as director of scouting for Kansas. He will oversee roster management, personnel and scouting for the Chanticleers, helping lead the way into a new era of college football.

Aligo joined the Jayhawks with Head Coach Lance Leipold and helped make an immediate impact as the program qualified for back-to-back bowl games for only the second time in school history.
During his tenure in Lawrence, Kansas became a top storyline in college football, earning its first national rankings in 675 weeks, hosting ESPN's College Gameday for the first time in program history on October 8, 2022, hosting FOX Big Noon Kickoff for the first time on Oct. 28, 2023, and earning Kansas' first-ever ranking in the College Football Playoff Ranking on Oct. 31, 2023.
Prior to his time at Kansas, Aligo was the director of player personnel at four schools — Michigan State (2020), Akron (2019), Chattanooga (2017-18) and John Carroll (2016).
Before entering the college ranks, Aligo was in the NFL for more than seven years, serving as a player personnel assistant for the Kansas City Chiefs (2005-09) and a personnel associate with the Cleveland Browns (2014-15).
Aligo has coached at nearly every level of college football. He served as a defensive ends coach in Northern Colorado (2014) and a defensive graduate assistant at Texas A&M (2012-14) where he helped the Aggies in winning both the AT&T Cotton Bowl (2013) and the Chick-fil-A Bowl (2013). He also spent time as a defensive quality control assistant at Oklahoma State for the 2011 season, working with cornerbacks and special teams as the Cowboys won both the Big 12 Championship and the Fiesta Bowl.
Prior to OSU, Aligo was the primary defensive backs coach at Washburn for the 2010 season and assisted the Ichabods in their Kanza Bowl victory over Midwestern State.
The native of Tonganoxie, Kansas, earned his bachelor's degree in education and sports management from Kansas (2005) and a master's degree in recreation, park, and tourism sciences from Texas A&M (2013).
Aligo is married to the former Sarah Phillips. They have two children, Giuliana and Vincent.
