CONWAY,SC - CCU defeated East Tennesse State in a thrilling five game series Saturday morning in the first game of the day in the Microtel Inn & Suites Classic. Game scores were 28-30, 30-28, 26-30, 30-21, and 18-16.

The Lady Chanticleers were led by senior Katherine Jensen-Spencer (Vancouver, B.C./Sentinel Secondary/Ole Miss) who tallied 18 kills and 16 digs. Jennifer Hampton (Lake Forest, Calif./El Toro) added 11 kills and 58 assists in CCU's victory.  Alicia Meyers (Temecula, Calif./Temecula Valley ) tallied 14 kills and 11 digs for CCU. The Lady Chanticleers had 8 total team blocks, while the Buccaneers had 11. The Chanticleers had a hitting percentage of .587 while the Buccaneers hit at .386 percent.

East Tennessee State was led by Jennifer Sartor who tallied 16 kills and nine digs. Brittany Kessel added 16 kills and 17 digs for the Buccaneers.

East Tennessee State will now face Iowa at 4:30 p.m. and Coastal Carolina will face North Carolina A & T at 7:00 p.m. in the final game of the Microtel Inn & Suites CCU classic.
