HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. Coastal Carolina had five players reach double digits and the Chants defense held UNC Asheville to 33 percent shooting in defeating the Bulldogs 78-52 in the team's second game of the KEMI Northern Kentucky Basketball Classic.

With the win, Head Coach
Cliff Ellis picks up his 750
th NCAA Division I win. He continues to be the only coach in the nation to have won at least 170 games with four division I programs.

The Chants balanced scoring attack was led by
Zac Cuthbertson's game-high 15 points. He also completed his second double-double of the season with another game-high 13 rebounds, which also ties his career high. He also had a team, game and career-high seven assists.

Tommy Burton came off the bench to score 13 points on four-of-six shooting.
Tyrell Gumbs-Frater,
David Pierce and
Amidou Bamba also scored 10 points each.

The Chants finished the game shooting 45 percent (27-60) from the field and hit seven of its 25 three-point field goal attempts. The Chants continue to struggle at the free throw line connecting on 17 of its 30 attempts (57%).

The Chants defense shut down the Bulldogs in both halves and also forcing 12 turnovers which they were able to turn into 15 points.

CCU won the battle of the boards 51-26.
Ajay Sanders had nine boards to go along with his eight points and
Tommy Burton had five. 26 of CCU's rebounds were on the offensive end and led to 18 second chance points.

Coty Jude and DeVon Baker each had 13 points to lead UNCA's offense. Cress Worthy and Stephen Edoka had team-highs in rebounds with four.

The Chants took a 47-25 lead into the locker room at halftime after shooting 52 percent in the opening 20 minutes. CCU was able to get to the free throw line and took 23 charity shots but only made 14 of those or the lead could have been larger.

Cuthbertson had 11 and Burton came off the bench to add 11. Bamba scored 10 as the Chants continued to get the ball inside where the CCU post players each reached double digits in the opening half.

Baker had nine for UNCA and Jones added eight. UNCS struggled from the field only shooting 29 percent in the first 20 minutes, but was able to knock down four three-point field goals.

The Chanticleers will end their stay in Kentucky when they face host Northern Kentucky in the final game of the tournament. The game is set for a 6:35 p.m. tip and can be seen live on Fox Sports Ohio.
