LAFAYETTE, LA. – The Coastal Carolina volleyball team continued its winning ways in Sun Belt Conference play on Saturday with a straight-sets win (25-19, 25-21, 25-15) over the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns in Long Gym. The Chants improved to 4-0 in conference play and a 14-2 overall record behind junior
Kyla Manning's 15 kills.
The Chanticleers faced a 10-9 deficit in set one, but were able to rally off four consecutive points to take a 13-10 advantage. Manning and sophomore
Anett Nemeth each had a kill during the four-point swing.
Coastal went on to win the set 25-19, as Manning and Nemeth totaled four more kills apiece down the stretch.
Each of the CCU hitters played a vital role in the set one win as Manning kept the Chants in it through the first 19 points as she tallied five of her six first-set kills. Nemeth carried the offense over the last 12 points with three of her four first-set kills.
Just like in set one, Coastal Carolina found themselves down in set two. Louisiana's Hali Wisonoskie recorded four kills to help put the Ragin' Cajuns out in front of the Chants by a score of 14-10 and just like in the first set, CCU fought their way back to take the set, 25-21.
Manning and Nemeth had five kills apiece in the second set and three apiece during the comeback rally.
After coming out of the intermission, the Chanticleers took complete advantage of the third set of play to take a 20-11 lead. Louisiana strung together four points of their own on three Coastal errors, including two by Manning.

Jozsef Forman, CCU finished off the Ragin' Cajuns, 25-15, with five consecutive points on five kills, two by middle hitter
Christina Nance.
Nance had five kills in the set while hitting 1.000. The native of Bowie, Md., helped the Chants to a .419 hitting percentage in set three. The Coastal Carolina defense held the Louisiana attack to a .097 hitting percentage.
Manning had a .367 hitting percentage in the match and chipped in on the defensive side with 13 digs.
Nemeth pitched in with 12 kills and Nance tallied nine kills with a .900 hitting percentage.
Freshman setter Brigitta Pretrenko dished out 37 assists and dug 13 balls.
For Louisiana, Celeste Darling and Wisnoskie had a team-high seven kills and setter Avery Breaux had 18 assists in the match.
The Chanticleers are back in action on Friday and Saturday as they travel to Arkansas for more Sun Belt Conference play. The Chants will play Friday night at Little Rock at 7:30 ET and Arkansas State on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
