Coastal Carolina Women’s Lacrosse Take to the Road

10th-ranked Syracuse to Host the Chants

CONWAY – The Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse team will travel to Syracuse, N.Y. to take on the 10th/15th-ranked Syracuse Orange on Monday, February 18 at 5:00 p.m. inside the Carrier Dome.
 
The meeting between the Chants and Orange will be the first ever, and the third team Coastal has played from the Atlantic Coast Conference. Overall, the Chanticleers are 0-6 against teams from the ACC, with three losses each to Virginia Tech and Louisville.
 
Syracuse opened their season with an 18-6 victory over UCONN, followed that up with a 15-5 win over Binghamton before dropping a 14-12 contest to the top ranked Boston College to start 2-1 on the season. The Orange are led offensively by Emily Hawryschuk with nine goals and three assists for 12 points and Nicole Levy with six goals and four assists for 10 points. Defensively Syracuse is led by Asa Goldstock who is giving up 7.38 goals allowed and Sara Cooper who has caused nine turnovers and scooped six ground balls.
 
CCU opened their season taking down former ASUN member Old Dominion 19-10 at home. With the season-opening win, Coastal starts 1-0 for the third time in program history. The Chanticleer offense was led by Haley Alexander (5 goals and 3 assists) and Madeline Bromley (4 goals) who combined for a total of nine goals. The defense was anchored by reigning ASUN Defensive Player of the Year Harley Barrett (12 saves, 54.5 save percentage) and Emily D'Orsaneo (3 caused turnovers and 4 ground balls).
