ROCK HILL, S.C. – On Wednesday, the Coastal Carolina track and field team traveled across the state to compete in their final regular season meet at the Winthrop Twilight, as they would combine for nine first-place finishes on the day.
Men's Highlights
For the second time in his career, sophomore
Adriaan Wildschutt broke the Coastal Carolina school record in the 3000 meters with a time of 8:02.18, over fifteen seconds better than his previous time of 8:17.72 set at the 2018 Sun Belt Championships.
Nadeel Wildschutt was running right on his brother's heels and would have broken the old school record, but on this day, he would finish second to Adriaan with a time of 8:02.54.
Junior
Devin Pringle picked up his first victory of the season in the 100-meter sprint as he finished Wednesday's race at 10:57, just shy of his personal best time of 10:56.

Ty Floyd picked up CCU's third 4x100 victory of the year with a time of 40.40, just three-tenths shy of the 2010 school record.
Individually, Denmark picked up his second first-place finish of the season in the 200 meters as the redshirt senior picked up his fastest time of the season at 21.15.
In the 110-meter hurdles, junior
Connor Langdon and freshman
Zahir Scott added two season-bests. Langdon added a first-place finish in the event with his fastest time of the season of 15.06 and Scott picked up a personal best with a third-place finish of 18.37.
Langdon, a Manorville, N.Y., native, returned later in the evening to take home a second-place finish in the pole vault as he jumped to a personal best height of 4.40 meters on his first attempt at that height.
In the triple jump,
Richie Sadler added his second first-place result of the season with a leap of 14.79 meters. Earlier in the season, the freshman recorded his first win at the
Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational with a distance of 14.68 meters.
Senior
Kieran Moore added a personal best and first-place finish in the hammer throw on his second attempt of the evening with a distance of 53.68 meters.
In the shot put,
Ryan Wheaton picked up his first victory of the season with a throw of 14.06 meters. The freshman reached that distance on his second attempt of the competition.
Junior
Andrew Southard and sophomore
Cameron Butler finished second and third in the 800 meters with personal best times of 1:53.93 and 1:55.60, respectively.
Women's Highlights
Sophomore
Eleni Frommann was triumphant in the 400 meters for her first victory of the season with a personal best time of 58.32. The sophomore also added a personal best in the 200 meters with a second-place result of 24.91.
Senior
Karissa Lunn picked up her fastest time of the season in the 100 meters with a time of 12.66, good for third place overall, while junior Giovanna would finish third out of ten runners in the 3000 meters. The Bloomfield Hills, Mich., native ran to her second-best time of the season at 11:03.45.
The Chanticleers will return to action as they take part in the 2019 Sun Belt Conference Championships at Arkansas State on May 10-12.
