Men's Soccer among Top 20 Programs over Last Five Years

CONWAY – The Coastal Carolina University men's soccer program was ranked nationally as the 19th-best program over the last five years by SoccerWire.com.

Every year, the United Soccer Coaches (USC) poll and Rating Percentage Index (RPI) provide their rankings for the best soccer teams throughout the season. Based on their average position in the end-of-season rankings over the past five seasons in both the USC poll and the RPI, the Chanticleers came in at No. 19 overall.

Stanford and Wake Forest were atop the top-25 poll. Coastal has wins over other teams listed in the poll in Maryland (No. 4), Georgetown (No. 6), Clemson (No. 10), and Charlotte (No. 12) over the past five years.

The Chanticleers are coming off their third Sun Belt Conference tournament title and 16th appearance in the NCAA Championship where they upset North Carolina State (3-2) in the first round before falling CCU Men's to third-ranked SMU (0-1) in the second round in a double overtime affair.
