CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse first-year head coach
Rachel Shuck Whitten has officially announced the 2022 spring schedule, which includes six home matches on the "Surf Turf" inside Brooks Stadium and a neutral-site contest at the US Lacrosse National Headquarters.
The Chanticleers return to the ASUN Conference after competing in the Southern Conference last season and will play conference matches versus Delaware State, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Liberty, and Stetson.
The non-conference schedule includes home contests versus Virginia Tech, Winthrop, and William & Mary, and road contests against Vanderbilt, Johns Hopkins, Davidson, Radford, Richmond, VCU, and Lehigh.
Coastal Carolina will open up the 2022 season with a season-long five-match road trip, starting with a road contest at Davidson on Feb. 19., before making a three-match road swing through the state of Virginia with matches at Radford (Feb. 26), Richmond (March 4), and VCU (March 9).
The Chanticleers will remain on the road and wrap up the season-opening road trip with a neutral-site match versus Lehigh at William G. Tierney Field at the US Lacrosse National Headquarters in Baltimore County, Md. on March 11.
Coastal will then open up its home slate with back-to-back non-conference matches versus William & Mary (March 16) and Winthrop (March 18), prior to returning to the road for a non-conference contest at Vanderbilt on March 27.
CCU will open up ASUN Conference play at home on April 1 versus the Jacksonville Dolphins and continue conference play at Delaware State on April 9.
After stepping out of conference play with a road match at John Hopkins on April 10, the Chanticleers will return home for a three-match homestand beginning with a showdown versus Virginia Tech on April 13.
The Chants will continue its homestand with back-to-back conference matches versus Liberty (April 16) and Kennesaw State (April 23), before concluding the regular-season slate on the road at Stetson on April 30.
The 2022 ASUN Women's Lacrosse Championships will take place May 5-7 and will be hosted by Jacksonville at D.B. Milne Field at Rock Stadium.
