Chants Continue Road Trip at Richmond

Coastal Carolina women’s lacrosse team will play its fourth consecutive road match
CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's lacrosse team will travel to Richmond, Va. to take on the Richmond Spiders at Robins Stadium on Friday, March 4. The opening draw is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
The Chanticleers are 2-1 on the year, having won back-to-back contests including the program's first-ever win over Elon after dropping the season opener at Davidson.
The Spiders enter play with a 4-0 record including an 11-10 win over the No. 16 Stanford Cardinal at home last Friday, Feb. 25.
COASTAL vs. RICHMOND HISTORY
The March 4 meeting will be the first-ever meeting between the two teams.
ABOUT COASTAL
The Chants are led by Lauren Cremen (7 goals), Avery McIlwaine (6 goals), Abi George (4 goals), Kayla Downey (4 goals), while Hannah Demis and Monica Manley each have added three goals. Demis and Downey are the top two assists leaders for the Chants with seven and four assists, respectively
Defensively, Coastal goalkeeper Claire Martell faced 66 shots and made 20 saves on the season, while Claudia Kelly, Marissa Munson, and Downey have caused three turnovers apiece.
Demis and Martell are the reigning ASUN Player and Defensive Players of the Week for their play in the two wins last week.
ABOUT RICHMOND
Richmond is led by Lindsay Frank with nine goals, while Arden Tierney and Nicole Concannon each have added eight goals. The Spiders' Tierney is leading the team with eight assists with Colleen Quinn adding six assists on the young season.
On the defensive end, Delaney Galvin has started all four matches between the pipes and has made 48 saves while facing 117 shots. Sophia DiCenso, Hannah Custer, and Brittney Wright have helped stop the opponents' offense from scoring by causing five turnovers each, while Maggie O'Brien (10) and Galvin (7) have grabbed a combined 17-of-77 ground balls.
