Indoor Track & Field Set to Compete at the Bob Pollock Invitational

Chants will compete at Clemson on Friday and Saturday
CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina University women's indoor track & field team will continue its 2023 spring season this weekend, Jan. 27-28, at the Clemson Bob Pollock Invitational in Clemson, S.C.
The women's team is coming off a weekend at the 2023 Carolina Challenge in which two Chants in Alexis Glasco (60-meter hurdles) and Amilia Wise-Sweat (800-meters) set new school records. Seven other student-athletes etched their names into the top-10 of CCU's all-time indoor track & field performance list.
Coastal has three Chants ranked in the top-five in the Sun Belt Conference in the 60-meter hurdles in Glasco (2nd – 8.29), Sydney Clemens (4th – 8.40), and Amanda Kinloch (5th – 8.43).
Sprinter Kayla Sweeney ranks third in the SBC in the 60-meter dash (7.46) and fifth in the 200-meters (24.44), while fellow Chant Lauren Gordon is second in the league in the 400-meters (56.28).
In the distance events, CCU's Wise-Sweat has the top time in the SBC in the 800-meters (2:12.12), while junior Molly Jones leads the conference with the top-time in the 3000-meters (9:31.12).
In the field events, sophomore Camryn Lorick sits in a tie for fifth in the high jump event (1.68 meters) in the conference, while Zayna Fray-Samuel is sixth in the weight throw (17.74 meters) and Kynnedy Dennis is tied for seventh in the pole vault (3.60 meters).
