Chants look to build on solid Lady Paladin finish

CONWAY – The Coastal Carolina University women's golf team will be back in action when it travels to Virginia Beach, Va., for the Evie Odom Invitational scheduled for Oct. 6-8 at the par-70, 5,824-yard Princess Anne Country Club.

Sun Belt Conference member Old Dominion will host 15 teams in the event. Joining the host team and CCU will be UCF, Furman, Notre Dame, Indiana, James Madison, Sacramento State, Kent State, North Florida, Missouri, College of Charleston, East Carolina, Penn State, and Chattanooga.

CCU opened the fall portion of its schedule with a solid eighth-place finish at the Lady Paladin Invitation. The Chants finished 12th at the Evie Odom Invite last year after scoring a 33-over 873 (305-287-281).

Head coach Katie Quinney has set a lineup that includes three first-year Chants in Hannah Karg, Varatkarn Kunkaew, and Carolina Hortian. Returning players Sara Sarrion and Luisa Gibson will round at the CCU participants.

The three-day, 54-hole event is scheduled to tee off at 8:30 a.m. ET on Friday with the Chanticleers tee time set for 9:20 a.m. ET.
