Karg shoots an even-par 70 in Saturday's action
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Coastal Carolina University women's golf team continues to be in a tie for 8th place at the Evie Odom Invitational after shooting 12-over 292 in the second round at the Princess Anne Country Club in Virginia Beach, Va., and has the Chants sitting with a 23-over 583 (291-292).
Freshman Varatkarn Kunkaew leads the Chanticleers after two rounds with a five-over 145 (72-73) and is tied for 24th heading into Sunday's final round.
The Chants have three players tied for 29th with a six-over 146 in Hannah Karg (76-70), Sara Sarrion (69-77), and Luisa Gibson (74-72).
Carolina Hortian finished her round tied for 78th with a 19-over 159 (78-81).
It was another tough scoring day as none of the 15 teams broke par. UCF held on to the top spot with a seven-over 567 (273-294) with Kent State just two strokes behind with a nine-over 569 (283-286). Furman (290-282) and Chattanooga (285-287) are tied for third at 12-over 572, while Old Dominion rounds out the top five at 16-over 576 (294-282).
The College of Charleston is sixth with a 17-over 577 (289-288) and East Carolina is seventh at 22-over 582 (291-291). CCU is tied with Sacramento State (291-292) at 23-over 583 with James Madison 10th at 24-over 584 (296-288).
The rest of the field includes Indiana (287-301) and Notre Dame (298-290) tied for 11th with a 28-over 588, followed by Missouri (+32, 592), Penn State (+37, 597), and North Florida (+600).
